Betsy is about 2.5 years old and has been staying in the shelter since February 2016.
She is spayed, vaccinated and walks perfectly on a leash!
Her story is a sad one. Betsy was found living in a tiny apartment, overcrowded with several other dogs, neglected, and being deprived of food and a chance to walk outside. But, fortunately it didn't affect her personality and she remains a very cheerful and life-loving doggy.
Betsy's got quite an unusual appearance. At first glance, she might look like a regular short-haired middle-size black dog, but when she straightens her huge pointy ears, you realize that this doggie is anything but ordinary!
She is very curious and playful. Betsy knows how to be goofy sometimes. She loves being around humans and to be petted.
Unfortunately, she doesn't get many chances to be around people in the shelter, where volunteers come to visit dogs only on the weekend, which is also her only chance to leave her cage and stretch her legs a bit. Another huge challenge for short-haired dogs like Betsy is surviving Russian winters. ln her shelter, dogs live outside and their only option to get some warmth during long freezing winter nights are a wooden box that she sleeps in, with a heap of hay on the floor, and warmth of bodies from her cellmate buddies.

Прошел ровно год как Лучик стал домашним!!! Дина пишет, что он совсем привык и вошел целиком и полностью в жизнь семьи!!!
У Дины теперь даже шапка с Лучиками!!!
Дарси всегда считался полу дичком, подбежит, за рукав схватит, и отбегает. Погладить его не удавалось. Но угощался вкусняшками всегда с большим удовольствием. Так и шли его годы в приюте. Дарсик совсем состарился, мордочка вся седая. А уж зубы, вернее их остатки - просто УЖАС!!! Скорее всего все нужно удалять, там одни пеньки и корешки остались. И это ведь еще и боль доставляет собаке, кроме того, что вообще не понятно, как он ест сухой корм. Гулял Дарсик всегда около вольера со своими соседями - Марушкой и Орешком. Орешек недавно уехал жить в семью, а Дарсик с Марушкой все еще надеются и верят в чудо!!!
Вот таким стал смелым наш Гек!!! Он прекрасно ходить на поводке, ему очень нравится ходить именно с правой стороны! Оксана постоянно с ним занимается! Гек стал доверять людям, страхи уходят и мальчик очень надеется стать домашним!!!
со вчерашнего дня было 2 звоночка, первой позвонила девушка, которая ассистирует врачу анестезиологу и по совместительству нашему волонтеру Ларисе
договорились на следующую субботу встретиться в приюте, пока бронируем кошечку, чтобы звоночки не шли и чтобы людей не обезнадеживать...
